Two-Step Cooking - All in One Pot

Because many slow-cooker recipes require a two-step process-- browning/searing meat on the stovetop before slow cooking to seal in flavors, often times you end up with more than one dirty pot to scrub clean. For the ultimate one-pot solution, the Crock-Pot® brand designed a stovetop-safe pot that moves from stovetop to slow cooker in one smooth move. With the slow cooker's double-duty removable cooking pot, you can brown, sear, or saute ingredients directly on the stovetop before placing the pot into the slow cooker to finish cooking. No need to dirty unnecessary extra pots or pans along the way. Two steps. One pot. No problem.

Stovetop-Safe DuraCeramic™ Cooking Pot

The slow cooker's removable cooking pot features a DuraCeramic™ nonstick coating, which prevents food from sticking, helping to ensure effortless food release and quick cleanup. The durable nonstick coating is also scratch-resistant for long-lasting, high quality performance, as well as PTFE and PFOA free for healthier cooking and peace of mind. The pot's oval shape fits larger roasts and cuts of meat, while its glass lid helps trap in heat and moisture and allows for at-a-glance viewing of the cooking process. For added convenience, the pot's integrated side handles make it easy to lower and lift the pot in and out of the heating base for graceful transitions from stovetop to cooker to tabletop for serving.

Digital Control Panel with Countdown Timer

Whether searing meat first or simply cooking up a large batch of chili, the appliance's user-friendly control panel makes slow cooking a snap. To begin, press the Select button to choose between high or low temperature settings. An indicator light will show the current high or low temperature setting. Next, press the Timer arrows to scroll through the cooking time options (increments of 30 minutes, up to 20 hours). Once set, the timer will begin counting down the minutes in one-minute increments. After the set cooking time has elapsed, the slow cooker will automatically switch over to Keep Warm mode and a Keep Warm indicator light will illuminate. Ideal for on-the-go parents and busy professionals, the slow cooker with its programmable settings allows you to spend the day cooking, even when you're not in the kitchen. The unit cooks food slowly and evenly, drawing out tantalizing flavors and filling your home with savory aromas--what could be more welcoming at the end of a long day? From Grandma's savory stew, chicken cacciatore, and barbecue pulled pork to pre-seared pot roast, sausage and meatballs, and beef bourguignon, mealtime just got more amazing.

Easy-to-Clean Design

Once cooled, the slow cooker cleans up easily. Wipe down the heating base's exterior with a damp cloth and place the glass lid in the dishwasher. Though dishwasher-safe, washing the slow cooker's removable cooking pot by hand is recommended to preserve its ceramic coating.

Timeless Tradition

A useful addition to any busy kitchen or a thoughtful wedding or housewarming gift, the slow cooker combines the convenience of modern-day technology and innovative design with the nostalgic sense of home-cooked meals enjoyed around the dining-room table with family and friends. Attractively housed in brushed stainless steel, this Crock-Pot® 6-quart slow cooker looks just as good on the kitchen counter as it does on an elegant buffet when entertaining. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Use, Time Saver I found this model to be a great asset to my kitchen routine. The ability to transfer the pot straight from the stove top to its base, made preparing easy and the Dura ceramic coating, made cleaning up my meal, a breeze. Not to mention the easy to use digital display panel, that let set me set the time and temperature at the press of a button. Definitely worth the investment for those that want a great meal, but might think they don't have the time, with this model you can have both. As a disclaimer,I did receive this product as a sample to review, however I genuinely enjoyed using this product and know that you will, too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I give it 5 stars This is the slow cooker I would have designed given the opportunity. The digital timer and temp control are easy to use and give you more control than than any other slow cooker I have owned. The the ability to use the cooking bowl to brown on stove top means one pot cooking and little clean up. I also found the cooking pot surface to be nonstick making it effortless to clean. The cooking bowl is also light weight making it easy to lift and wash. I am sure I will enjoy this slow cooker for yeas to come. I received this cooker as part of a consumer test. I can honestly say that I would have written exactly the same review if I had purchased myself. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great concept! This concept is such a great idea. I used it several times in different ways. I would usually skip the "browning" process to save myself the work of cleaning an additional pan but this remedies that just great. I don't think it browns as well as a skillet or other pan might but it's better than the alternative of skipping the step. I also used the insert to cook a main meal and then transferred to the slow cooker to keep warm as we sometimes eat at different times. Both times the meal came out great. I've had problems in the past with overcooking in other slow cookers but did not have this problem with this. I received this product as a sample to review.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overall Good I like this slow cooker for the reason I bought it. I love having the ability to brown foods on the stove top without dirtying another pan. I have two issues with this model however. Maybe it is just me, but I find that I can't get the smell of what I cooked in it out--no matter how well I clean it. Maybe it is just the downside to the duraceramic coating. Also, I do not like the design of the lid handle. I constantly have to unscrew the knob in order to dry the moisture built up under the lid after cleaning. Sorry to complain, but I'm hoping that the critique will better inform customers and help build upon the design of the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So impressed with this product This crock pot has proven to be a new favorite in my kitchen. It can transfer from the stove top to the crock pot which makes dishes and clean up much easier. Also, unlike previous slow cookers that I have used, nothing sticks to the sides or bottom of this crock pot. The crock pot is very lightweight and portable which is surprising for its large capacity, enough for my growing family of 5. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this product and would highly recommend it! This crock pot was sent to me as a sample to test, and I am very happy that I was able to try it! Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love This More Than I Expected I picked this slow cooker because of its ability to go from stove to the crock for true one-pot slow cooking. It performs that duty as expected and its nice not to have to wash an extra piece of cookware after browning meat. But there's more... This cooker heats up evenly. My old cooker seemed to always get really hot on the sides, even on the low and warm settings and I was worried about putting too little food in it. I have cooked as little as 1 pound of pork shoulder, with a cup of liquid in this for over 6 hours with no burning. Also, due to its stove-top-safe construction, the insert is extremely lightweight compared to stoneware crocks. The weight, combined with the coating, makes it really easy to clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Features - All-In-One This is the perfect size Slow-Cooker - I've owned the little one and the big one - this is just right. Being able to put the pot on the stove to do things such as sear meat and then putting it into the cooker unit is a life saver - and cuts down on the # of dishes to wash. The timer system that puts it on "warm" automatically is a great feature. The ability to take the pot out and wash it by itself is very helpful - the lid goes right into the dishwasher. They say the pot is dishwasher safe but not recommended. The surface allows easy cleaning - don't use abrasives like scouring pads - no need. This unit was given to me as a review item - I was not charged for the unit. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy! This crock pot is perfect. I love that you can put the "pot" on the stove to brown meat without dirtying another pan; it is also very light, not heavy like the crockery pots. The timer is great too, although i wish it could be set to start at a specific time - as it is, while you can set the cooking time, you cannot set a starting time, so you have to turn it on before you leave it. As with all crock pots, the lid leaves something to be desired. It is glass which is good to see through, but the metal rim and the screwed-in handle allow food residue to build up easily. But i do not regret purchasing this pot, it is perfect for me and the price was right. And one more thing...all the other reviews I read said the folks got their pots on a test/trial basis for free...how do i sign up for such a bargain??
