What to do!!?

First, let me say the bread pudding was delicious! I cannot give this recipe more than three stars though. My problem was the way the recipe was written! 1st, the recipe calls for 1/2 stick of melted butter, but it says nothing in the directions about ANY butter. 2nd, "2 Cups of sugar, 1/2 cup for separate mixture", again, nothing in the directions about that 1/2 cup of sugar! Luckily I am a very experienced cook and I think I put these two ingredients in the right place, but someone looking for a recipe that is not as experienced as I am would not have an idea what to do with it! I would love to see a new post of this recipe just to see if I did the right thing with those ingredients. Please fix this recipe!

Due to gradual and even heating of a slow cooker, recipes featured on this site can be cooked in a range of slow cooker sizes. Most recipes can be accommodated in a slow cooker that is either one quart smaller or one quart larger than specified. If using a smaller sized slow cooker, please use caution when preparing your meal to prevent over filling. For smaller sauces and dips that call for 3 quarts or less, it is not recommended to alter the unit size. Crock-Pot® is a registered trademark and should not be used generically when referring to a ‘slow cooker’ within the recipes.
