Time on High: 2 to 3 hours Time on Low: 6 to 8 hours My children love this recipe and it's a great way to make sure they are eating some vegetables.


Ingredients

2 Cups broccoli florets
1 Medium onion, thinly sliced
1/2 Teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/2 Teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1/2 Teaspoon dried thyme leaves
14 1/2 Ounces Italian style diced tomatoes, undrained
10 Ounces beef broth
1 Pound lean ground beef or beef strips
2 Cloves garlic, minced
2 Tablespoons tomato paste
2 Cups rotini pasta, cooked
3 Ounces cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

Combine beef and garlic in large nonstick skillet cook over high heat 6 to 8 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, breaking meat apart with wooden spoon.
Strain in a colander to remove excess fat and drippings.
Add beef mixture to Crock-Pot® slow cooker.
Layer broccoli, onion, basil, oregano, thyme, tomatoes, tomato paste and beef broth in the stoneware.
Cover; cook on Low 6 to 8 hours or High for 2 to 3 hours.
Serve over pasta and pass the cheese to garnish.

Super Easy!

This recipe was my first crock-pot attempt! The flavors were really good and I made it in a very short amount of time. However, there's no mention as to whether you're supposed to stir the pot or not stir the pot. Also, my mess up was putting in too much stock but it was still a wonderfully easy recipe that I'd make again for my family.
