Time on High: 3 to 5 hours Time on Low: 7 to 9 hours Delicious stuffed green peppers that are easily made in your Crock-Pot® slow cooker.


Ingredients

6 to 8 Small green peppers, tops removed and seeded
10 Ounces frozen corn, partially thawed
1 Pound ground beef, browned and drained
8 Ounces tomato sauce, canned
1 Cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 Clove garlic, minced
1/2 Cup onion, chopped
1/2 Teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon pepper
2 Teaspoons ketchup

Instructions

Wash peppers and drain well.
Combine all ingredients except ketchup in mixing bowl. Stir well.
Stuff peppers 2/3 full.
Pour 3 tablespoons of water into the stoneware.
Arrange stuffed peppers in stoneware.
Pour ketchup over top of peppers.
Cover; cook on Low 7 to 9 hours or on High 3 to 5 hours.

I've been making these for over 20 Years. We love them!

I have been been making this stuffed green pepper recipe for well over 20 years. (Actually, it's almost 30 years, now.) Everyone loves it! Over the years, the recipe has changed a little bit, in this house. The basics are the same. I can usually fit between 5 and 6 peppers in my Crock-Pot (the taller the pepper, the better). When cooking the beef, I generally add garlic and at least 1 onion. The two main things that I do differently, is that I add the beef/corn/ cheese mixture to my stuffed peppers; then, I squirt a swirl of ketchup on top of each pepper before putting the top of the pepper back on each pepper. And... the cheese.... well, I probably double the cheese. I mix the majority of my cheese into the beef mixture and let it cook. Then, I add more cheese at the end until it melts. This is a delicious, easy, meal that always turns out perfectly. We like it over rice. Oh- don't ever forget the Worcestershire Sauce; it makes a difference. :)

Very good, but instructions appear to be faulty

Made this recipe in my 6 QT crock pot. Small peppers were not available so I had to use 5 large ones instead. That was the maximum that would fit in the pot. Stuffed each pepper full to use up all the filling. Instructions say to mix all ingredients together, but the product picture appears to show a cap of cheese on top which would not be the case if you mixed the cheese with the other ingredients. I suggest you hold some cheese out and sprinkle on top of each pepper after stuffing them. The recipe also calls for 2 Tsp of Ketchup which is inadequate for 5 peppers (or even the 6-8 the recipe calls for). I think 2 Tsp per pepper is more likely the correct amount. I used red, yellow, and orange peppers rather than green peppers. The colored peppers are sweeter and not as bitter as a green pepper. I thought this recipe was fantastic and have already purchased the ingredients to make it again very soon.

Size PLEASE!

Why do so many crockpot recipes omit the size of the slow cooker to be used? Are we just suppose to know? Most of the time the recipes sound like they would be good but I don't even bother with them because of this.
