Slow cooking your roast allows the meat to breakdown so tenderly and when added to a few simple ingrediants, it creates a wonderful "melt in you mouth" meal that is full of flavor. Serve it over rice or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

3 to 5 pound Chuck Roast
1 (10 Ounce) can of Cream of Mushroom
1 Packet of Onion Soup Mix
1 Medium onion -chopped
2 medium carrots-chopped (optional)
2 Tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
Drizzle of Olive Oil

Instructions

Lightly coat roast with flour and drizzle oil in a large skillet or non-stick pan over med-high heat. Place flour-coated roast in pan and sear meat on all sides, ( approximately 2 to 3 minutes on each side) then remove from heat. This step is optional but color on the meat equals flavor.

In a medium bowl, mix the can of cream of mushroom and the packet of onion soup till well blended.

Toss in the chopped onion and carrots into your Crock-Pot®, then place the roast on top of the vegetables. Finally, with a rubber spatula, spread the soup mix evenly over the roast.

Cook on Low for 8 hours. The juice of the roast will blend with the soup mix to make its own gravy. Serve over mashed potatoes or cooked rice & Enjoy!

Due to gradual and even heating of a slow cooker, recipes featured on this site can be cooked in a range of slow cooker sizes. Most recipes can be accommodated in a slow cooker that is either one quart smaller or one quart larger than specified. If using a smaller sized slow cooker, please use caution when preparing your meal to prevent over filling. For smaller sauces and dips that call for 3 quarts or less, it is not recommended to alter the unit size. Crock-Pot® is a registered trademark and should not be used generically when referring to a ‘slow cooker’ within the recipes.
